WELCOME MESSAGE

Welcome to the 1st International Congress on Mental Health Literacy, under the theme "Empowering People and Communities to act." The congress will be held in the city of Coimbra between 27th and 28th February 2014.

Health literacy has assumed a prominent place over the past decades constituting today a key concept in health promotion and prevention and disease management.

This conference will be a forum for meeting and discussion of all who are interested in issues about mental health literacy in the most diverse fields of intervention and research. In this sense the congress contemplates a multidisciplinary approach where aspects such as health promotion, health education and health communication can be discussed in order to contribute to health policies and practices.

Thus, we invite you to participate in the Congress where you can submit and give visibility to the work and research that you have been doing in your professional area.
In this sense, the Journal of Nursing Referência will publish a minute book of the congress. This journal is currently indexed in CUIDEN, CINAHL, and Latindex SciELO Portugal. It is internationally disseminated in paper and Web-accessible in Cantandária Index, ESEnfC /Referência, CINAHL.
