The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) is an important international organization based within the University of Adelaide, Australia, with Prof. Alan Pearson as its Executive Coordinator.

The JBI aims to become a leader in the synthesis, transfer and utilisation of the best available scientific evidence to inform decision-making, improving healthcare outcomes globally.

The Institute collaborates internationally with 77 entities across the world.

In Europe, there are currently 14 Centers which aim to reinforce their cooperation through joint projects and actions.

The Portugal Centre for Evidence Based Practice (PCEBP) is a JBI Affiliated Center, based within the Research Unit of the Nursing School of Coimbra, which will hold the 2nd European Meeting of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI).

The first meeting was organized in April 2012 by the BICEP - Belgian Interuniversity Collaboration for Evidence-Based Practice.

In addition to specific work by the members and directors of the European collaborating centers, the 2nd European Meeting of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) will also include an open SYMPOSIUM aimed to disseminate the activities of the JBI centers in Portugal and discuss current issues which are relevant to evidence-based practice and have the potential to produce significant health gains.

Thus, we would like to invite postgraduate Students, Researchers, Professors from Schools and Universities and Health Professionals to register in this Symposium.
