Workshop: Health care professionals’ safety in psychiatric settings: aggressive behavior management techniques

The researchers’ team of the project “Violence in psychiatric settings” integrated in the UICISA:E, with the collaboration of a Group of Trainers from the Helse Bergen Haukeland University Hospital, particularly the colleague from the EViPRG, Geir Johnny Olsen, has planned a workshop on "Health care professionals’ safety in psychiatric settings: aggressive behavior management techniques" which aims to promote the safety of nursing professionals in psychiatric context. The workshop will be held on October 30th, 2014, with the following objective:

- to discuss the different procedures that should be taken into account in the management of aggressive behaviors.

- It includes a brief introduction and a framework for the training of techniques and skills to manage aggressive behaviors; physical interventions; sharing and discussion of experiences related to the management of aggressive behaviors; and demonstration and practice of specific skills to manage this type of behavior.
