On September 25-26, 2015, the Nursing School of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal, will organize the 2nd International Congress of Nursing in Multiple Sclerosis “Better Practice, Higher Quality of Life” with the support of Novartis.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS ) is a health condition that bring many disadvantages to patients and their families. As a chronic disease, the patients’ responsibility for disease management is a focal point and this success relies largely on their efforts. The quality of life of these patients and their families is affected at the psychological, social, family, professional and financial levels, among others.

The disease is managed in partnership with health care professionals. These professionals face the challenge of providing support to the patient and family in the management of therapeutic self-care, therapeutic regimes, signs and symptoms, activities of daily living, the relationship with support services and their accessibility so as to optimize their responses to this complex process of transition, making it easier to adapt to the new life conditions and promoting quality of life and well-being.

We would like to invite professionals in the areas of health, education and research to participate in the 2nd International Congress of Nursing in Multiple Sclerosis “Better Practice, Higher Quality of Life”, which aims to provide a space for sharing and discussion of knowledge, practices and experiences developed in the area of MS which can be translated into health gains for the patients, families, community and institutions.

The scientific program covers an eclectic set of themes, which reflects common concerns to health care professionals and patients with MS. This program will highly benefit from the contributions of national and international experts who will add the value of diversity to the scientific knowledge and research that will be shared. We call for the submission of abstracts for oral and/or poster presentations in the area of MS.
