The project “Portuguese Youths – influences and predictors of alcohol consumption and abuse” by Professor Rosa Cristina Correia Lopes received an honourable mention at the XVIII World Congress of Epidemiology and VII Brazilian Congress of Epidemiology that took place on September 20-24, 2008, at the facilities of the Fundação das Indústrias do Rio Grande do Sul (FIERGS), in Porto Alegre.
The project of this professor of the ESEnfC was presented as a poster, like the several other communications of ESEnfC teachers in this Congress.
Teachers José Manuel Pinto, Maria Vitória de Almeida, Marília Loureiro and Rosa Cristina Lopes also attended this meeting that gathered 7500 participants from 50 countries
The following numbers provide an account of the dimension of this scientific event: 4800 posters (eleven from the ESEnfC), 16 conferences, 43 symposiums, 25 lectures, 28 mini-symposiums and around 100 coordinated communications. The theme of this meeting was “Epidemiology in the Construction of Health for All: Tools for a Changing World”.
