“Fado ao Centro” is a Cultural Center with daily live concerts of Fado from Coimbra.
Here you can talk to the musicians, exchange experiences, and learn more about the Fado from Coimbra and the Portuguese guitar. Only the best musicians of the city play in Fado ao Centro (always students and former students) and they are selected according to the highest standards.
The English journal “The Guardian” considered it to be one of 15 must-see places in Portugal.
You can also visit the “Oficina de Construção de Instrumentos” of Fado ao Centro, where the renowned Luthier “Eduardo Loio” works full-time and lectures courses on how to build musical instruments (Portuguese Guitar, Viola, Cavaquinho-small 4-string guitar, and Mandolin).  
The Fado ao Centro is, undoubtedly, a place to visit in Coimbra. Following the work that has been held by this Cultural Association, you’ll find different exclusive editions of books, CDs and DVDs related to Fado from Coimbra.

The Fado concert lasts approximately 50 minutes. A Port-wine reception (“Porto de Honra”) will be held at the end
