Carine dos Reis Lopes, student of the Licentiate degree course, won the 1st prize for the presentation of a poster at the Nursing Symposium "Continuous Care: Needs/Opportunities" that took place on 19th and 20th September at the Maia Forum Auditorium.
The poster, entitled "Delivering bad news - fears of those who deliver and change on those who receive them", stood out among the 68 projects with the same format presented during the two days of the Symposium. Professor João Graveto, responsible for lecturing the subject Project of Personal Development II, within the scope of which the student elaborated the poster, states that this poster "was distinguished for its particular scientific quality".
The student Diana Catarina Ferreira de Campos was also distinguished - with an honourable mention (4th place) - for the presentation of an oral communication "Nursing - Shared Clinical Decision in Palliative Care".
During the symposium, which had the participation of more than 100 people, 37 oral communications were presented by several health professionals.
This scientific meeting was also attended by Ana Rita Machado and Ana Sofia Sineiro, students of the ESEnfC, with the poster "Domiciliary Palliative Care: Provision of Care within the Family".
Professor João Graveto was pleased with the work developed by the students, stating that it was all worth it. For him, this will constitute a strong curricular advantage which will help future nurses integrate into the labour market.
