Welcome to the 2nd Nursing Research Biennial.
The event will include the 7th Congress on Nursing Research of Ibero-American and Portuguese-speaking Countries and the , organized by the Health Sciences Research Unit: Nursing (UICISA: E), evaluated and accredited by the Foundation for Science and Technology and based at the Nursing School of the University of Coimbra.
The UICISA: E conducts research in the fields of nursing, health, and allied sciences. Its mission is to develop R&D activities at an international and interdisciplinary level, aiming to address complex problems in a sustainable and socially responsible manner. These activities are carried out within the scope of health promotion, disease prevention, and care for individuals who are ill, disabled, or at the end of life.
The UICISA: E aims to:
(I) Conduct research in priority health areas that generates relevant scientific contributions to the advancement of knowledge and to achieve high-value healthcare;
(II) Develop experimental and applied research in healthcare technology for the creation of medical devices and technical procedures;
(III) Carry out R&D activities aimed at synthesizing and implementing the best available evidence to promote evidence-informed nursing care;
(IV) Train researchers - from initiation to advanced levels - through the development of activities related to scientific research, leadership of interdisciplinary research programs, and the production, communication, synthesis, and application of scientific knowledge.
The UICISA: E includes approximately 225 PhD researchers and collaborators from around 29 academic and clinical institutions, who participate in more than 30 international networks of relevance to nursing worldwide, influencing policies and leading or collaborating on funded projects.
This moment, when researchers from different parts of the world come together, is an excellent opportunity to share experiences and research findings that can guide professional practice, promote new educational contexts, and generate a positive impact on healthcare with benefits for all.
