On May 14, the Nursing School of Coimbra opens its doors to secondary
students, disseminating the training offer and revealing the attractiveness of its
laboratorial teaching.
This guided visit, also aiming at commemorating the International Nurses
Day (May 12) will allow students who are considering a career in the health
area to get in touch with the ESEnfC and, perhaps, chose our institution for
future higher education studies.
Under the motto “Nursing: Seeing….is Wanting!”, one of the main strong
points of the visit will be the demonstration of simulated practices.
The students will be able to observe and learn techniques of basic life support – procedures in a situation of cardiorespiratory arrest -, as well as seeing a delivery simulation, through a system composed of computer-controlled mannequins (mother and foetus).
Young teenagers will be able to experience some of the technological resources and
equipments used either in the training offered by the ESEnfC, or in the
professional Nursing practice.
As a higher education institution of reference, in continuous change and
updating, with this initiative the ESEnfC intends to make students aware of
Nursing training as a professional project, helping secondary students to
consciously create a life project.
The welcoming of secondary students is scheduled to
At Campus A, after lunch in the students’ residence, the students will
also visit the facilities of the institution in Celas and see a performance of
the Tuna de Enfermagem de Coimbra (musical
group made up of nursing university students).
