"Child in Danger - articulation between primary health care and hospital health care" was the topic of the final research paper developed by the nurses Eugénia Maria Rainha Pereira and Maria Edite de Miranda Trinco, within the scope of the I Post-Licentiate Specialisation Degree Course in Child Health and Paediatric Nursing.
This work, which was discussed last Wednesday (4th May 2008), calls attention to the fact of the articulation between the referentiation and intervention networks being still incipient.
The authors consider it fundamental that these teams include nurses, as experts on social and cultural realities in which these children and families develop themselves. The identification of danger situations should occur at an early stage and the approach should be contextualised. The Health Centre may emerge as a location of trust and of fundamental importance in the articulation with the Hospital.
Professor Providência Marinheiro was the supervisor of the research work, Professor Jorge Apóstolo the examiner and Professor Dulce Galvão the president of the jury.
