On December 19th, at the University of Cape Verde, the Nursing School of Coimbra will organise the seminar “Peer Education: A Sustainable Strategy”.
In the seminar, in cooperation with the University of Cape Verde, professors Irma Brito (“Peer Education: sharing in order to multiply”) and Amélia Castilho (From learners to educators”) will both lecture conferences. These teachers are both responsible for the Workshop on Expressivity (group of Peer Education) of the Student Association of the ESEnfC.
Other communications will be presented by professor João Graveto, student Sofia Homem and nurse Filipa Homem.
Professor João Graveto and student Sofia Homem will discuss the Project “Before you get burned: street intervention in a recreational context”, whereas nurse Filipa Homem will explain the objectives of the project “Friends are friends, Pressure is Pressure: intervention in school context”.
The goals of this seminar are: to promote the discussion of the advantages, challenges and limitations of the Peer Education methodology, based on the experiences of groups of Peer Educators.
Students, teachers, Health and Social Service professionals, leaders of community and youth organisations and politicians are expected to attend this seminar.
