ESEnfC students in collaborative international online learning project

From January 31 to April 24, thirty Nursing School of Coimbra (ESEnfC) students, from the 3rd and 4th year of the bachelor's and master's degrees, will participate in an international collaborative online learning initiative. Through digital channels, they will engage in discussions with colleagues from five other European higher education institutions.

The topics for discussion will include 'End of life/euthanasia/grief, 'Gender and diversity', and 'Social inequalities and health'.

Promoted by the ESEnfC's National and International Relations Office (GRNI), the project, called COIL@ESEnfC, is conducted in partnership with educational institutions in Belgium (KdG University of Applied Sciences and Arts), Denmark (VIA University College), Romania (Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy), Finland (Diaconia University of Applied Sciences) and Spain (Universitat Rovira i Virgili).

As explained by the GRNI/ESEnfC, collaborative international online learning (COIL) is an opportunity to interact with faculty and students from other higher education institutions from different geographical areas, languages, and cultures, providing a valuable experience for those involved, and developing collaborative teaching and learning processes through digital tools.

Professor Rosa Moreira, the coordinator of GRNI/ESEnfC, highlights that the COIL@ESEnfC project provides an affordable alternative to experiencing 'internationalization at home' for students and faculty as it offers an opportunity to enhance individual and collective knowledge, teamwork, communication, language, cultural sensitivity and awareness, autonomy, and digital skills.

After expressing interest in participating in the COIL@ESEnfC project (by registering), the selected students will be continuously assessed based on their attendance and compliance with proposed tasks. The information regarding the students' participation in the project will be included in their Diploma Supplement (an addendum to the final diploma).
