Activities of Daily Living Laboratory/Adapted Apartment

This laboratory was designed to provide care to patients in processes of adaptation to health problems resulting in disabilities and/or special needs, making it possible to relearn new ways to deal with their daily needs for self-care and independence.

This laboratory is composed of a multi-purpose space with an adapted kitchen and living room, a bedroom adapted to a person with limited mobility, and a bathroom with an adapted shower base, a bathtub, toilet, and washbasin. This bathroom can also be used by actual patients from the community who require help in the adaptation to disabilities and/or special needs, such as in the case of patients after a stroke (hemiplegia).

This laboratory is specialized in simulating activities of daily living and provides students with a place to practice these activities (dressing and undressing, eating, personal hygiene, mobility, etc.).
