Project Summary
Nurses have clear and specific tasks in the preparation/administration of medication. Nurses’ role in interprofessional pharmaceutical care (PC) is not clear in terms of tasks and responsibilities which go beyond the nursing technical skills. In addition, there are also differences in this role across the several European countries, with the most visible one being the prescription of medication. The lack of consensus about tasks/responsibilities has many implications in the nurses’ performance in Europe and worldwide.
The DeMoPhaC project integrates nursing students into an international project that combines research, education, practice, and policy with a view to fostering their personal and professional development and creating opportunities for their future careers.
